Teaching in Post-Secondary Education
|
This course is meant to train us to become more effective teachers in post-secondary education settings. The course explored various concepts of teaching, strategies to encourage learning, approaches to assessment, and improving through teacher learning and development. Each student participated in an online blog, created a syllabus plan, and taught a mini lesson. The culmination of the course resulted in creating a philosophical approach to teaching as well as a design for assessing students' learning and teacher effectiveness. While I do not currently teach in a formal setting, this course was incredibly instrumental in how I approach training in my current job.
